Literature Text

The next day, the warblers training camp continued, but it wasn't exactly happy. Kurt couldn't even enjoy singing the songs properly, not that he like the whole 'doo-whop' thing but at least he felt included. Blaine was also down; his voice was just quiet and raspy. The pair both was putting on fake smiles, but as the practise went on, this attempt was lost. When it was time for a break, Blaine just excused himself and went off to his dorm. The whole atmosphere was moody, everyone's happiness had just drained thanks to the pair and they knew something was up.

Kurt was sitting by the window, the weather was exactly the same as the mood, cold and damp, a change from the blazing sunshine that usually shone down on the Dalton academy. Wes went over to Kurt; he was sick of the mood and was starting to get impatient, he wanted to get some rehearsal done.

"Kurt, what's up with Blaine? You guys were getting along fine until truth or dare last night, did something happen between you guys? " asked Wes, his impatient attitude melted away when he saw how blank Kurts face was.

"I have no idea Wes, he was acting really weird when he came back from the toilet, and do you think he overheard us?" replied Kurt, his voice sounded desperate even.

"That doesn't sound like Blaine, he would never eavesdrop" sighed Wes, he wasn't really into talking deeply about things, and he wanted to get on with practise
"Why is he acting so weird then?" asked Kurt, as he turned his head back to the window, the wind was really picking up outside.

"Well, I've known Blaine for some time now, and when he's really upset about something, he refuses to talk to anyone and likes to keep to himself, just leave him to it, it will pass, don't worry" replied wes, he didn't want to let Kurt down, and he knew that Blaine could be really annoying when he's upset.

"How about I ask him? Man to man? He owes me anyway, I had to lie about him being sick in the morning  when he really got up late and had to do his hair, seriously that guy, how much product does he have on that head?" replied wes, going off conversation, he left Kurt, and went over to assemble the warblers.

Kurt stood up and shuffled over to the group. Blaine came back; his eyes looked a little red but he seemed to have perked up a bit. As the practice went on, and both boys were fake smiling again, oblivious that the group were talking about them, they carried on the singing and Wes was satisfied with the performance.

As soon as the practise was over, Blaine grabbed his stuff and bolted out the door, it was obvious he didn't want to talk about what happened last night. Kurt was without a ride, but then remembered that Mercedes was seeing family in Westerville and would sure give him a lift. As he looked through his iPhone for Mercedes number, he spotted the text that Blaine had sent him a couple of days before in  algebra when Kurt was grumbling about how much homework he now got at Dalton; 'hey turn that frown upside down ;) B'

Mercedes came in the next five minutes. Kurt gabbled a farewell to Wes and climbed into the black mini in which Mercedes had parked.

"Hey Kurt! Spill the goss!" called Mercedes giggling as Kurt struggled to fit his humongous bag into the tiny space at his feet.

"Oh boy have I got goss!" replied Kurt with a tired smile. He told Mercedes the whole story on the way back to Lima. When the car reached outside Kurt's house, Mercedes put a hand on Kurts shoulder

"Kurt, seriously, it sounds like something's up with Blaine, I mean you guys are so close! There must be a reasonably situation, you need to confront him! Make him spill, do what you gotta do! If that boys gonna let you down like that, he's gonna have to answer to me!" replied Mercedes. Kurt got out, said bye to Mercedes and walked up the porch, Finn was at the door when he heard Mercedes drive away, and he wanted to hear everything to

Little did Kurt know it, after the rehearsal, when Blaine hurtled off, he had gone back to his house. His mom wanted to know how it went, but Blaine just blanked her, grabbed his guitar and stomped out the door, he needed to do some serious thinking, with help from the power of music. He turned on his red sports car and drove down to lake, he and Kurt had spent many happy weekends down under the secret willow tree. He sat down there himself, looking out to the lake, the sun was setting now, but the rain was also picking up. He got out his guitar, and sang his favourite song.

"I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
sat by the river and it made me complete"
The rain started to really pour down now, but Blaine ignored that and just kept on going
"Oh simple thing where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
so tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin"
"And if you have a minute why don't we go
talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
so why don't we go
somewhere only we know?"

As Blaine sang, tears spilled down his face, 'why did it have to be like this?' he thought 'why can't life be simple?'.
